SEPTEMBER 11, 2010 - STANDING BUFFALO GREENSHED
Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation has begun work on its greenshed project. The project marks the start of not only their combined greenhouse, storage shed, and market but also their community garden and new Band Hall. The greenshed is a demonstration and test of ideas and designs that will eventually be used to construct the community Band Hall. JULY 17-29, 2010 - KINISTIN BUILD POW WOW ARBOUR
Kinistin Saulteaux Nation has completed its Pow wow arbour! The arbour was listed in the plan as a potential project and Kinistin is excited to move forward with this project and begin now to organize its 2011 Pow wow. It will be Kinistin's first Pow wow since 1991. Cities & Environment Unit planners along with architecture students from Dalhousie University were in Kinistin from July 17-29. JULY 7-8, 2010 - JSC MEETING IN SASKATOON
The latest JSC meeting was held July 7-8 in Saskatoon. In attendance were members from CCBP communities, INAC, Tribal Councils and CEU planners and architects. DECEMBER, 2009 - PHASE 2 PUBLISH THEIR PLANS!
The Phase 2 communities (Cowessess First Nation, Kinistin Saulteaux Nation, Muskoday First Nation and Pasqua First Nation) have completed their plans. Plan launches are set for the new year and the communities are eager to begin implementation. Visit the Pilots section of the website for more information about the Phase 2 communities.
AUGUST, 2009 - KAHKEWISTAHAW COMMUNITY MARKET
Kahkewistahaw First Nation are continuing to implement their plan through the construction of a community market. This project involved KFN community members, Yorkton Tribal Council, architecture students from Dalhoushie University, and planners from Cities & Environment Unit.
JULY 2009 - FLYING DUST ENVIRONMENTAL PAVILION
The Environmental Pavilion was identified as a kick start project in the FDFN Plan. It was built over the course of two weeks with the help of many community members, architecture students and donations from many sources. The pavilion is a place where community members can learn about the environment as well as the community's culture and traditions.
JUNE 24-24, 2009 - MUSKODAY HOSTS NETWORK SESSION
Muskoday First Nation hosted the most recent Network Session June 24th and 25th, 2009. The session included live music, great meals and of course some serious work on Planning. Click here to view materials related to this session.
FEBRUARY 25-27, 2009 - FIRST CCBP NETWORK MEETING HELD IN SASKATOON
The first CCBP Network meeting was held in Saskatoon in February, bringing together representatives from all 11 communites for the first time. Discussions were had about the growing CCBP Network and its role in the planning process. There were also opportunities for participants to network with each other, further their planning work, and learn about the work being done in other communities.
